The Ti (belt) connects the top and bottom of the Dobok (uniform) and is tied around the waist. The belt indicates the technical level and the time of practice. The different colors indicate the levels of knowledge acquired in Taekwondo.
The belts are classified according to their color from beginner to black belt. A change in color indicates that the practitioner’s body and mind are gaining harmony and technical maturity.
The color white symbolizes birth. The color black symbolizes a new beginning. In other words, the value of Taekwondo is naturally anchored in the attitude towards life, because becoming a Taekwondo practitioner, which lasts for a long time, implies understanding that the value of Taekwondo is situated in perseverance at Taekwondo practice sessions.
Practitioners must continue to practice to access different levels. The belt for beginners is white. Black is given to Dan holders.
